Can we accept a contribution from a political action committee?

May our organization accept a contribution from a political action committee? We are recognized as a public charity.

Yes. Although charities may not contribute to a political action committee, a political party, or a political candidate, there is no regulation which prohibits a public charity from accepting a contribution from a political organization. In fact, distribution to a public charity is one of the specifically permitted ways to distribute leftover funds so that the money is not treated as personal income taxable to the candidate.
