Accountant denied equal pay, retaliation claims
The Third Circuit Court of Appeals has affirmed a District Court decision denying Equal Pay Act and retaliation claims brought by a woman accountant against the YWCA of Greater Pittsburgh.
The woman claimed that she was hired at a salary less than her predecessor and that her successor was paid more after she was fired. But the Court noted that her predecessor had been hired to set up a new computerized payroll system and that the woman had been hired simply to process the work.
