Association’s failure to certify does not violate antitrust rules

The failure of the United States Golf Association to certify that a new device for gauging wind on the golf course conforms with the Rules of Golf does not constitute a violation of antitrust laws, the federal District Court in Minnesota has ruled. 

 

The USGA uses its Rules of Golf in the 13 national championships it conducts each year and the PGA Tour and other entities conducting championships usually apply the Rules.
