The Roman Catholic Bishop of Springfield MA lacks standing to challenge a modification in the use of scholarship money left for the benefit of students of two parishes within the Diocese, the Appeals Court of Massachusetts has ruled. Stanley Jez had left a testamentary trust to provide scholarships to boys of two particular parishes to study forestry at Paul Smith’s College or the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
