Charity walk organizer has no duty to protect walkers in public road

The organizers of a Good Friday charity walk have no duty to protect walkers crossing a public street and therefore no duty to contribute to the settlement between an injured walker and a truck driver and his employer who paid $1.45 million in damages.  The Supreme Court of Rhode Island has affirmed a prior decision holding that a property owner has no duty to protect walkers in the public street from traffic injuries.
