Employee at religious group’s resale store eligible for unemployment

An organization founded by a group of churches “to provide assistance to residents of the [community] who are unemployed, underemployed, dealing with a long term illness, or experiencing other forms of personal crisis” is not entitled to the religious organization exemption to the Colorado unemployment compensation law, and a former employee is eligible for unemployment compensation payments, the Colorado Court of Appeals has held.  It has reversed the decision of the Industrial Claim Appeals Office that had ruled the former employee ineligible.
