When Mindy Lee was terminated as a volunteer for the Animal Aid clinic in Florida, she allegedly began to defame the clinic and was sued for defamation. According to the clinic, she was “very often a difficult person to work with,” was harsh and hostile, and harassed other volunteers. After she was terminated, she began to publish “false” statements about the clinic, saying it used non-sterile surgical tools, did not use pain medications, and worked with veterinarians who were “not licensed true veterinarians.” The clinic alleged she published defamatory statements by posting on Facebook, contacting governmental agencies and news outlets, and posting negative comments on Yelp and Google...
