Whistleblowers’ retaliation charge dismissed

The Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals has affirmed a summary judgment dismissing two employees’ charge that they were dismissed from their jobs after complaining about improper and illegal acts of their employer.  The Court of Appeals held that neither the timing of the discharges nor the employer’s change in its statement of the reasons gave rise to an inference of retaliation and that the employees had not shown that the employer’s reasons were a pretext.
